Let’s take a moment to use Voulay’s CEO as a perfect example. Placide’s kindness is not something performed. It is in the time he gives when he does not have to. The conversations he makes space for, even when the day is full. The encouragement he offers quietly, without seeking recognition.
And if you know Placide, you know he is probably going to cringe at the fact that we are gushing about him right now. (Not even sorry.)
Sometimes, taking a moment to shine the light on someone, even if they’d prefer to stay behind the scenes, is the best type of #payitforward we can do.
Speaking of the people who make everything better behind the scenes, our COO, Jayme, deserves a highlight too. (I’m gonna get in so much trouble with this post! *amused giggle*)
Jayme leads with the same quiet strength, showing up where it matters most. Her generosity lives in the fierce care she gives to the details no one else catches, the encouragement she weaves into every tough conversation, and the way she never lets anyone believe that they don’t matter.
One of her go-to phrases is:
“You ALWAYS matter. You NEVER don’t matter.”
Together, they set the tone for Voulay:
Leading a community not by hierarchy, but by heart. Proving that real leadership isn’t about titles or applause. It’s about the invisible work, the conversations nobody sees, and the belief that people always come first. Because at Voulay, how you build matters just as much as what you build.

To Dallas, our seasoned Dev Mentor – who came on to guide our interns through Voulay’s Mentorship program and just… never left. Not that we will let him leave now. (You’re stuck with us, Dallas. Again, not sorry.) His experience and wisdom have been a constant anchor.
To John, our Lead Dev, who is nothing short of a gift from the universe. John, we see you. We appreciate you. And no, we’re not sharing you either.
To our incredible UI/UX Interns:
Rachel, Shanmukhi, and Arifuzzaman – your ideas, execution, and collaboration skills are unreal.
Rachel and Shanmukhi especially have been holding it down like pros. And yes, they’re absolutely going to be a gift to anyone they work with in the future… But no, y’all can’t have them.
And our Dev Intern team? Honestly, we can’t gush enough!
